$12 for 1/3 pounds of ham? Or for 1 1/3 pounds = 4/3 lbs.? I'm guessing 4/3 lbs. but can work both.
$12 for 4/3 lbs.:
$12=4p
divided both sides by 4 to see how much money for 1 p(ound):
$12/4=(4/4)1p
4/4=1 so:
$12/4=(1)1p
$3=1p
It's $3 a pound.
If it's 1/3 lb for $12:
$12=1/3p
we multiply by 3:
$12*3=(3*(1/3))p
$36=(3/3)p
$36=(1)p
and it's $36 a pound
