I currently work part time in film and as a touring musician. I do lots of freelance jobs on the side to support the lifestyle of a touring artist. I fully recommend anyone interested in a degree in math to follow it, because regardless of whether you wish to work in a math/science based field, it is a very impressive degree to include on your resume. Interviewers, regardless of the job, immediately consider you as a more intelligent candidate just because you proved that you could get a degree in math, because most people find the subject matter to be extremely difficult and disheartening. However, if you keep up with the curriculum, math only slowly builds upon itself.
Experience
I was tutoring mathematics as my job while going to college. These days I privately tutor family, friends, and referrals. I have my bachelors degree in pure mathematics from the State University of New York at New Paltz. I’ve also worked successfully with students who have learning disabilities.
