Hello! My name is De Harman and I am a mother of three. I enjoy playing the piano, teaching worknout classes, teaching mathematics, being outdoors, dogs, and art!
For the past eight years I have worked as a teacher and partook in curriculum development in some capacity. I have served as a curriculum writer in the following subjects: Math 7, Advanced Math 7, Math 8, Algebra, and Geometry. I have also served on curriculum teams each year for these same subjects and have designed webpages, pacing guides, learning intentions, activities, assessments, and other curriculum resources as well as organized the structure of these curriculum resources as they align with the Virginia Standards of Learning. I have mastered experience in designing curriculum so that students become fluent with answering assessment questions to the level of ability required on the SOL assessment test including technology enhanced items. I have presented curriculum and instruction methodology at the BRCTM, VCTM, and Radford conferences and held professional development sessions. I have completed my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction for Mathematics Education and am currently a PhD Candidate in C&I with the anticipated graduation date of August 2020.
