24 x 34 = 816 If you were to stack these two numbers in a multiplication problem then you would want to start by multiplying your 4s together, which would equal 16. Write down your 6 beneath the line and carry 1 above the 2 in the top left corner. Now multiply 2 x 4 and don't forget to add your 1, that equals 9. Now beneath your 6 put a 0 then multiply 4 x 3 which equals 12, write the 2 to the left of the 0 and carry 1 above the two in the top left corner. Now multiply 2 x 3 and add your 1, that equals 7. Now underneath your 24 and 34 you should have 96 and underneath that you should have 720 add those two numbers together and you should have 816, which is the correct answer.
