Chris A - Math Tutor In Washington DC - Local or Online

I speak conversational Japanese, enjoy gardening and farming, and have been to 13 countries.

Experience

I have over 8 years of experience tutoring mathematics. I have taught math to many different types of students, including engineering students, high schoolers, the disadvantaged, and the elderly. Subjects taught include pre-Algebra, pre-Calculus, ACT, Algebra, Business Calculus I, Business Calculus II, Elementary Math, Engineering Calculus I, Engineering Calculus II, Geometry, Ordinary Differential Equations, SAT, Statistics, and Trigonometry. Here is sample testimony from a former student: "Chris does a great job not just giving you the answers. He helps you think about how things work and he doesn't just throw equations at you. I hadn't met with him until after my first exam, which I did very poorly on. Since then he has been very helpful and made himself available upon any request. I have already seen improvement in my homework scores and I just took my midterm and feel very good about it. I felt more prepared for it than any other math test I have had. He is very personal and explains things clearly and thoroughly. He made me feel very comfortable from the very beginning." - Andrew, Engineering Calculus II
