An even integer can be called 2n, for any integer n. If an integer n is the first of a set, then n+1 is the second consecutive integer, n+2 is the third, and n+3 is the fourth. Therefore...
2n + 2(n+1) + 2(n+2) +2(n+3) = 28 => n=2
Plug n=2 into the expressions of the four addends to get 4, 6, 8, 10.
Check: 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 = 28
