Math Question: Little Tommy built a train out of blocks. One-third of the train was made with blue blocks, 2/5 of the train was made with red blocks and the remaining eight blocks were yellow.

1/3 of the blocks + 2/5 of the blocks = 5/15 +6/15 = 11/15 of the blocks are either blue or red.
That leaves 4/15 to be the 8 yellow blocks. That means that 1/15 will be worth 2 blocks.
If 1/15 of the blocks is 2 blocks, then 1/3 = 5/15= 10 blue blocks.
2/5 = 6/15. There are 12 red blocks.
If you add the 10 blue blocks to the 12 red blocks to the 8 yellow blocks, you will get a total of 30 blocks to make the whole train.
