Math Question: 4x+8y=20 and -4x+2y=-30 * (7,-1) (2,5) (0,2) i dont understand how to do this

To find the solution to this system of equations problems using elimination is the easiest method. If you write the problems vertically, one on top of the other, and add them you will notice that the x’s will cancel and you will be left with 10y=-10. You can then divide both sides by 10 to get y=-1. To find the x value you pick one of your original equations and substitute y=-1 into the equation. I will use the first one so 4x + 8(-1) = 20. Then
4x - 8 = 20. Now it is just a two step equation. Add 8 to both sides to get 4x = 28 then divide both sides by 4 to get x = 7
